Rich Chapman

Rich Chapman has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Rich currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Pilot Energy, a role they assumed in April 2022. Prior to that, Rich served as the Sr. Director of Operations Accounting & Projects at Florida Crystals from October 2019 to April 2022.

Before joining Florida Crystals, Rich worked at Gexa Energy, where they held the position of Sr. Director of Accounting from August 2017 to October 2019 and Controller from October 2013 to August 2017. During their tenure at Gexa Energy, Rich implemented process improvements that reduced monthly closing cycle time and eliminated a significant portion of monthly closing tasks. Rich also successfully led the transition from Great Plains to SAP.

Additionally, Rich had a successful career at NextEra Energy Resources, where they served as the Regional Controller from March 2013 to October 2013 and as the Accounting Manager for NextEra Energy Power Marketing, LLC from February 2008 to March 2013. In their roles at NextEra Energy Resources, Rich oversaw accounting functions, managed settlements and regulatory reporting, and contributed to the development of a custom trade capture system. Rich also obtained Six Sigma Green Belt certification and successfully completed a project that improved the tax provision preparation cycle time by 50%.

Rich Chapman earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from Florida Southern College in the years 1990 to 1994. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Stetson University between 1994 and 1995. Rich Chapman also holds a certification as a Certified Public Accountant.
