Ian Sands

Ian Sands is a seasoned leader in product design and technology, currently serving as the Founder and CEO of Pilot Lab since January 2014, a concept lab with locations in Seattle and London focused on impactful design. Sands has been a member of the Board of Trustees at The Bush School since September 2017, including a tenure as Chair of the Innovation Committee. Previously, Sands co-founded Intentional Futures, a strategic consultancy that collaborated with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. At Microsoft, Sands held various leadership roles, including Sr. Director of Envisioning, where foundational work on the company's 10-year productivity vision was accomplished. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from ArtCenter College of Design and studies at the University of California, Davis.
