Sophie Laing

Sophie Laing is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in consumer law and student loan advocacy. Currently serving as a Student Loan & Consumer Attorney and Liman Fellow at Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Inc. since September 2021, Sophie also holds the position of Clinical Instructor in Consumer Law at UC Irvine from August 2023 to May 2024. Previous roles include Clinical Student at Yale Law School's Mortgage-Foreclosure Litigation Clinic, Hobbs Fellow at the National Consumer Law Center, and Legal Intern at the Rhode Island Center for Justice. Sophie's early career included positions as Project Manager and Research Associate at Harvard Law School's Access to Justice Lab, Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Trial Court, and Campus Vote Project Fellow at the Fair Elections Center. Sophie holds degrees from Tufts University and Yale Law School.
