Raj Makhija has a diverse and extensive work experience in sound engineering and production. Raj is currently the Head of Sound and Engineering at Pineapple Street Media, where they develop and manages the Sound & Engineering Team, supporting numerous podcast productions. Raj also works closely with Producers to create audio production workflows and sound designs for various podcasts. Before joining Pineapple Street Media, Raj worked at CNN as the Senior Manager of Audio Production Operations, where they grew the audio portfolio and team and oversaw the technical project management and growth of CNN's podcast portfolio. Raj was also a Post Production Producer at CNN, providing technical and editorial feedback and managing recording and sound design for multiple podcast series. Prior to their time at CNN, Raj owned and operated The Chutney Compound, overseeing various projects in audiobook and podcast production, post-production for film/TV/animation, and music production. Raj also worked as an A1 Engineer at JH Pro Sound, setting up remote broadcast systems and live capture for events and conferences. Earlier in their career, Raj founded and ran RVM Sounds, where they oversaw the production of hundreds of audiobooks and managed a team of engineers, editors, and vendors. Raj also worked as a Voice Over Director, Producer, and Engineer at Audible, Inc. and as an Engineer, Mixer, and Producer at Quad Studios, where they worked with high-profile clients and artists.

Raj Makhija completed their education in 2004, studying Audio Engineering at the SAE Institute North America.
