Gerald McDermott has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Starting in 1989, they worked at Marquette Medical Systems as a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for almost a decade. Gerald then joined GE Healthcare in 1998 as a Manager of Sustaining Engineering, where they managed a team of engineers and supported the shipment of cardiology and patient monitoring equipment. In 2000, they moved to Medical Simulation Corporation as an Operations Management, Field Support, Logistics, and Customer Service Manager. There, they were responsible for global deployment of simulation technologies for healthcare education. Most recently, they have been serving as the Director of Engineering at Pinnacle Architectural Lighting since 2013.
Gerald McDermott completed their high school education at Western Dubuque HS from 1971 to 1975. Gerald then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, graduating between 1982 and 1991. Following this, they went on to earn a Master's degree in Engineering Technology, General from the University of Denver between 2003 and 2004.
