Kirsten Benjamin has a strong background in synthetic biology with a career spanning several prestigious organizations. Kirsten started as a Graduate Student at the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and went on to become a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. Kirsten then held roles at the Molecular Sciences Institute and Amyris, where they worked their way up from Scientist to Vice President of R&D. In 2023, they joined Pivot Bio as the Vice President of Synthetic Biology.
Kirsten Benjamin holds a B.S. Honors degree in Molecular & Cell Biology and Philosophy from the University of Michigan. Kirsten later pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Following this, they completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
