Melinda Miller

Melinda Miller has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Melinda is currently the CEO at Pixo, a position they have held since August 2021. Previously, Melinda served as the General Manager and co-owner of Pixo from January 2019 to October 2021.

Prior to their time at Pixo, Melinda worked at Pixo at pixotech.com, where they held several positions. Melinda served as the Director of Consulting from January 2018 to December 2018, the Director of User Experience & Research from November 2013 to January 2018, and the User Experience Architect from January 2012 to October 2013. Additionally, Melinda started their career at Pixo as an Intern from January 2011 to December 2011.

Before joining Pixo, Melinda was a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2010 to December 2011. Melinda pursued a graduate degree in Library and Information Science while also working as a Graduate Assistant in the Library's Scholarly Commons.

Melinda gained valuable experience as an Editorial Adviser at Illini Media Co. from June 2005 to August 2010. Melinda provided guidance to students in a multimedia editorial department and supported various student-run media divisions.

In 2009, Melinda served as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Melinda taught a lab course on graphic design and other topics related to journalism.

Earlier in their career, Melinda worked at Democrat and Chronicle as the Assistant Managing Editor for Presentation from 1999 to 2005. Melinda managed a deadline-driven department and played a key role in implementing a newsroom-wide system for streamlined operations. Melinda also contributed to the launch of Insider magazine.

From February 1995 to August 1999, Melinda held the position of Assistant Managing Editor at The Ithaca Journal. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating content, packaging, and production of the daily newspaper and special sections.

Prior to that, Melinda worked as a Design and Copy Editor at The Elmira Star-Gazette from June 1993 to February 1995.

Melinda Miller attended Macomb High School from 1985 to 1989, where they did not earn a degree or specialize in any field of study. Following high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Journalism at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1989 to 1993. Later, they completed a Master of Library and Information Science with a focus on User Experience at the same university from 2010 to 2011.
