Shawna Kalous

Shawna Kalous has extensive work experience in the mental health and healthcare industry. Shawna most recently worked at Plains Area Mental Health as the Chief Program Officer for Community Services. Prior to that, they served as the CCBHC Program Evaluator at the same company. Before joining Plains Area Mental Health, Shawna worked at IOWA TOTAL CARE at Centen Corporation as a Resource Specialist for Supported Employment. Shawna also gained experience at UnitedHealth Group, where they held the roles of Manager of Clinical Case Managers and Community Based Case Manager. Earlier in their career, Shawna worked as a Quality Improvement Facilitator at Telligen.

Shawna Kalous completed their Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where they studied Social Work from 1996 to 2001. In 2016, they pursued higher education at Walden University and obtained a Master's in Human and Social Services, specializing in Human Services, which they completed in 2017.
