Felix Marsault

Data Engineer at Plan A

Felix Marsault has had a varied work experience since 2011. In 2011, they were a Research Intern at Pierre and Marie Curie University supervised by Maria Chamarro in the INSP laboratory, where they studied the hole spin relaxation in InAs-InGaAs quantum dots. In 2012, they were a Research Intern at the University of Oxford supervised by Christopher J. Foot in the Clarendon Laboratory, where they realized a two species Bose-Einstein Condensate with 40P and 87Ru. From 2013-2018, they were a PHD Student at CNRS supervised by Jacqueline Bloch in the C2N laboratory (ex-LPN), where they developed scripts for image and data analysis with Python and Matlab. In 2018, they were a Consultant Big Data at Lojelis, where they implemented a small Hadoop cluster, did data mining (Python) and data analysis (Spark), and data visualization (Tableau, Python) for a POC decision support for real estate investment. From 2018-2020, they were a Data Engineer at Jems Group, where they implemented a Big Data solution for a system information refactoring project and created reports for different banking professions. Felix also wrote unit tests (Scalatest), optimized Spark job performance, implemented the Spark Dataset API for critical modules, and created DataViz POCs for sharing results with the business teams using ElasticSearch/Kibana or PowerBI. From 2020-2022, they are a Data Engineer at Linkvalue, where they are building an internal A/B testing solution for a streaming platform within a 5-person team (3 DE, 1 DS, 1 PO). Their tasks include ingesting and analyzing data (Spark/Scala) and experiments in Databricks notebooks (Python, PySpark).

Felix Marsault obtained a Master's degree in Physics from Ecole normale supérieure in 2013. Felix then pursued a PhD in Physics from Pierre and Marie Curie University, which they completed in 2016. In 2018, they attended FITEC for Information Technology training. Felix also obtained a certification in Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp from Udemy in March 2018.
