Ravi Teja Nallapu, Ph.D., serves as an Orbit R&D Engineer at Planet since January 2021. Prior to this role, significant research was conducted at the University of Arizona in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department from August 2017 to December 2020, where an outstanding graduate student award was received in 2020. Research efforts focused on motion planning, controls, and state estimation algorithms for multi-agent autonomous systems. Previous experience includes leading mobility and controls for CubeSat missions at Arizona State University and conducting studies on pilot gaze behavior in stress scenarios. Additional roles involved maintaining flight simulators at American Airlines and developing algorithms for numerical orbit propagation at the University of Houston. Nallapu holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, as well as a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
