Omar Ramos has worked in the tech industry since 2005. From 2005 to 2008, they were a Community Member at Open Source Matters, Inc. In 2008, they began working at Imperial Valley Community College as a Webmaster. During this time, they led the reorganization of the Active Directory OU structure to support student accounts, improved the Faculty & Staff Directory structure, and created and implemented an entire Student Email Provisioning infrastructure. In 2011, they began working at eBay Inc as a Software Engineer, where they worked with the Data Hub team and focused on maintaining the existing Data Hub product. In 2012, they returned to Imperial Valley Community College as an Online Services Architect, where they created ad-hoc texting capability for student services areas, researched Azure Cloud Offerings, and created a CAS Single Sign On Server. Finally, they are currently employed at PlanetScale as a Support Engineer, beginning in 2022.
Omar Ramos completed a Master of Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology from American InterContinental University in 2007. Omar also attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2005 to 2006, studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
