Goutam Mitra

Goutam Mitra has extensive work experience in the field of data science and software engineering. Goutam is currently serving as the Head of Software Engineering & Data Science at Oak Analytics since September 2016. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing the data science and machine learning strategy for a Raman Spectroscopy based IoT artifact. Goutam has built and deployed machine learning models in the cloud to authenticate food products in real-time.

Prior to joining Oak Analytics, Goutam worked as the VP of Big Data Science at Platinum Enterprise Solutions starting from February 2014. Goutam was the technical leader in architecting and developing machine learning and predictive analytics systems. Goutam also worked as a Principal Consultant at Analytica One, a subsidiary of Gamacon Inc., from January 2011 to February 2014. Goutam was involved in the analysis, design, and development of a Brand Sentiment Analysis software platform in collaboration with the University of Southern California.

Goutam has a strong background in business operations and entrepreneurship. Goutam founded Gamacon Inc. in 1990 and served as the CEO until February 2014. Goutam led a team of 75 consultants and managed various aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, human resources, and financial administration. Goutam also gained consulting and systems analysis experience at Nissan Motors/Deloitte & Touché, Mazda Motors of America/Accenture, Southern California Edison, and American Honda Motor Company.

Goutam Mitra obtained a B. Tech. degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Goutam later pursued an MBA in Systems & Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur. In 2012, they completed a certificate program in Web Intelligence, offered jointly by the University of British Columbia and the University of California, Irvine. In 2016, Goutam attended Stanford University for a course in Machine Learning. Additionally, in 2013, they obtained a Data Science Associate certification from EMC Greenplum.
