Brian M. Sandler is an experienced software engineer currently serving as a Founding Engineer in Software Systems at Plato Systems since May 2019, where exciting and challenging product developments are underway. Prior to this role, Sandler was a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the security and fault tolerance of distributed systems, and earned a Master of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science. Sandler's experience also includes a software engineering internship at Uber, where GPS location improvement systems were deployed at scale, and consultancy at ShadowMaps, where real-time GPS location improvement solutions were developed before the company's acquisition by Uber. Additional roles included web development and support positions, alongside research internships at UC Santa Barbara and The Scripps Research Institute. Sandler holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.
