Scientist at Plexium

Alexa P. has worked in a variety of roles since 2005. Alexa began their career as a Student Assistant at the University of California, San Diego - SSH Library: Research Services. Alexa then worked as a Research Assistant at The Scripps Research Institute from 2006 to 2007. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a Staff Research Associate II at the UCSD School of Medicine. From 2011 to 2017, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Davis. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Peer Adviser at UC Davis Internship and Career Center - Master's and PhD students, and Postdoc scholars. Alexa was an Assistant Project Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at UC San Diego from 2017 to 2022. During this time, they designed and performed studies related to mouse models of asthma, performed independent mouse experiments, histology and immunohistology analysis, processed and analyzed collected tissues and samples, performed flow cytometry assays, worked with and isolated pulmonary structural and immune cells, and supervised research associates and undergraduate students. Finally, they are currently a Scientist at Plexium.

Alexa P. began their education in 2002, when they attended UC San Diego and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology and Psychology, respectively. Alexa graduated in 2007. In 2011, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology at the University of California, Davis, which they completed in 2016.
