Karen D.

Karen D. has a strong background in payroll and tax-related roles. Karen began their career at Xerox as a Financial Analyst, where they supported financial consolidations and reporting for two business units. Karen then transitioned to a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst role at Xerox, where they coordinated with vendors and internal teams to ensure tax compliance and performed analysis to lower tax payments and penalties.

Karen's next role was as a Payroll Business Analyst at Rochester Institute of Technology, where they implemented new payroll processes and procedures, including testing software upgrades and patches. Karen then moved on to Bausch + Lomb as a Senior Payroll Specialist and Payroll Tax Accountant, responsible for accurate tax reporting and monitoring tax issues.

In 2013, Karen joined Exelis (now part of Harris Corporation) as a Payroll Tax Analyst III, providing tax expertise and research to resolve state and local tax and payroll tax issues. Karen also served as a Supervisor in the Payroll Shared Services department, overseeing complex payroll processing, tax compliance, and employee payroll issues.

Karen then joined Ortho Clinical Diagnostics as a Senior Payroll Coordinator and Payroll Tax Lead, responsible for tax compliance and reporting. Karen ensured timely and accurate submission of all federal, state, and local taxes to prevent penalties and maintained full compliance with payroll tax responsibilities.

Karen's most recent position was at Constellation Brands, where they served as a Payroll Supervisor and Senior Analyst. In a Shared Services environment, they analyzed and ensured compliance for complex payrolls, worked closely with the payroll team to ensure tax compliance and accuracy, and processed payroll on-time.

In 2022, Karen joined Plug Power as a Senior Global Payroll Manager, where they are currently responsible for global payroll operations.

Karen D. obtained their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Organizational Communication from Iona University in 1995. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Interpersonal-Intercultural Communication at the State University of New York at New Paltz between 1988 and 1990. Their educational background also includes an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Business Administration from SUNY Rockland, which they obtained from 1986 to 1988.

In addition to their degrees, Karen D. has acquired professional certifications. Karen became a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from the American Payroll Association (APA) in October 2020. Furthermore, in April 2009, they obtained the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the same institution.
