Stefan Smit

Stefan Smit has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to the present. Stefan started their career as a Roustabout at DDM Recruitment Services, where they worked on various production facilities on the Dutch continental shelf. Afterwards, they joined Paragon Offshore as a Roustabout, and later filled in the position of Motorman/Engine room operator on board a jack-up rig. Stefan also interned as a Mechanical Technician at Paragon Offshore. Stefan then had an internship with Shell as an Operation Technician, where they were responsible for safety on board and various testing and analysis tasks. Stefan continued with Shell as a Process Engineering Intern, focusing on emissions mapping and reduction for gas production platforms. Stefan joined Frames as a Construction & Commissioning Engineer, where they also undertook a Process Design Engineer role for their Bachelor's thesis, researching gas treatment techniques for renewable markets. Currently, Stefan is a Senior Engineer Advanced Manufacturing - New Product Introduction at Plug Power.

Stefan Smit has a diverse education history. From 2014 to 2017, they attended NCOI Opleidingen, where they obtained a MBO 4 degree in Technician mechanical equipment & installations. During this time, they focused on Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Technology/Technician.

In 2016 to 2017, Stefan attended ROC Kop van Noord-Holland, where they pursued a degree in MBO 4+. Stefan'sfield of study was Mining and Petroleum Technologies/Technicians.

Continuing their education, Stefan enrolled in NHL Stenden from 2017 to 2021. At NHL Stenden, they earned a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering.

Additionally, Stefan completed a Minor in Sustainable Offshore and Dredging Operations Technical at NHL Stenden. This program took place from 2020 to 2021.

Stefan also obtained several certifications throughout their education journey. In September 2020, they received a certification in Sustainable Offshore and Dredging Operations Technical from Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz. In November 2018, they obtained a VOL-VCA certification from Koninklijke PBNA. Finally, in May 2017, they acquired a Petrochemical & offshore certification from ROC Kop van Noord-Holland.
