Kaz Shimizu

Kaz Shimizu has extensive experience in investment and business development, currently serving as Group Leader at KDDI Corporation since April 2018 after seven years in San Francisco. Kaz leads the KDDI accelerator program "KDDI MUGENLABO," facilitating collaborations between enterprises and startups in Japan. Kaz's investment portfolio includes innovative companies such as Halo Neuroscience, Jibo, Inc., August Home, Inc., Ossia Inc., Edmodo, Inc., and Plumzi, Inc. Prior roles at KDDI America, Inc. as Investment Director and Investment Manager, as well as Project Manager at KDDI Corporation, helped establish a strong foundation in mobile web services. Kaz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Information from Keio University.
