Michael Shimmins

Michael Shimmins is an experienced technology leader and entrepreneur with a strong background in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as General Manager at Suru Pty Ltd since April 2018, Michael has previously held significant positions such as Head of Engineering at Service Victoria, where leadership was provided during a critical growth phase through the COVID-19 pandemic. As a co-founder and CEO of Teamsquare Pty. Ltd., Michael led the company from startup to acquisition by YBF Ventures in late 2017. With expertise in serverless architecture, Node.js, and various aspects of software development, Michael's career includes roles at Dodo Australia and Monash University, complemented by a robust educational foundation in computing, leadership, and public safety.
