Ori Shalem has extensive work experience in various engineering and operations roles. Ori started their career at Protalix Biotherapeutics in 2008 as a Biotechnology Engineer. Ori later joined the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, USA, as a Biotechnology Engineer specializing in biomaterials engineering. In 2009, Ori returned to Protalix Biotherapeutics as a System & Equipment Validation Engineer, where they managed and led various manufacturing projects.
In 2012, Ori joined Pluri as a Projects & Validation Engineer, responsible for developing and establishing the Engineering & Validation department. Ori then progressed to the role of Maintenance Engineering Team leader, where they planned and prioritized maintenance operations and managed a team of maintenance engineers. Ori's next role at Pluri was Director of Engineering, where they provided technical expertise and leadership in managing day-to-day operations for the Engineering, Validation, and Maintenance Engineering departments.
Currently, Ori holds the position of Director of Operations at Pluri, where they lead and manages day-to-day operations for multiple departments, including Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Supply Chain. Ori is responsible for implementing operations processes, managing cross-functional teams, and monitoring and controlling operational budgets. Ori also sets departmental KPIs and OKRs and implements policies and procedures to improve day-to-day operations.
Ori Shalem earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology Engineering with a specialization in materials and polymers from Braude Academic College from 2005 to 2009. Ori went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering at the same college from 2013 to 2015.
