Charles Smith

Charles Smith has an extensive background in software development, with a focus on modernizing banking systems at PNC since May 2018. As a Principal Software Developer, Charles has led the tech efforts for a new multi-product core banking system, leveraging REST micro-service APIs and Kafka event streams. Previous experience includes developing a distributed BASE24-eps system for debit card processing and various roles at the University of Pittsburgh where Charles conducted research in computer architecture, supervised technical consultants, and provided software support. Charles holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
