Michael Ulmgren P.e.

Michael Ulmgren, P.E. is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in coastal and hydraulics engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Coastal & Hydraulics Engineer at PND Engineers, Inc. since September 2020, Michael specializes in tidal and storm surge analysis, hydraulic design, and shoreline protection measures. Previously, as a Research/Coastal Engineer at the University of Alaska Anchorage from January 2017 to August 2020, Michael developed modeling solutions for coastal erosion studies and conducted oil spill simulations. Michael's earlier roles include Water Resources Associate at Michael Baker Corporation, where assessments of hydrology and hydraulics were performed for the Alpine Development Project, and various research and teaching assistant positions at the University of Alaska Anchorage, contributing to hydrokinetic studies and fluid mechanics education. Michael holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
