Gar Herring

Gar Herring has over 20 years of experience in the real estate and development industry. Gar most recently worked as the Senior Vice President of Development at Poag Shopping Centers since 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Sr. VP of National Retail Development Services at JLL from 2018 to 2022. From 2004 to 2022, Gar held multiple roles at The MGHerring Group, including President & CEO and President, where they were responsible for all aspects of development and operations. Before that, they worked at Donahue Schriber as a Development Manager and at The Staubach Company as a Real Estate Analyst. Gar also has experience as a Real Estate Loan Officer at Guaranty Federal Bank and as a Leasing Agent at the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation.

Gar Herring completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Real Estate from The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 1999. Gar also earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Finance from Tulane University, attending from 1990 to 1994. Additionally, they have obtained the designation of SCDP (Senior Certified Development, Design & Construction Professional) from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), although the specific month and year of obtaining the certification are not provided.
