Nilay Shah

Nilay Shah has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Nilay joined PocketHealth in 2021 and is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to that, Nilay worked at Tidbit as a Technical Co-Founder, where they led all technical aspects and contributed to various tasks including infrastructure bootstrapping and creating an MVP.

From 2017 to 2021, Nilay worked at Shopify, starting as a Software Developer Intern and eventually becoming an Infrastructure Security Engineer. Nilay focused on managing infrastructure at scale and led projects to enhance Shopify's security posture. In addition, they worked on the Exchange Marketplace team as a Software Developer, handling backend development and designing larger systems.

Nilay also has experience as a Contract Software Developer at Blackcreek Digital, a Developer at TEDxUofT where they were responsible for website development and design, and as an Associate Engineer at Wattpad, where they worked on backend APIs and optimized services.

Earlier in their career, Nilay worked as an Instructor/Supervisor at LogicFusion, where they prepared lesson plans and taught courses, and as a Lead Developer at GlassRoom Technologies, where they developed a RESTful API and mobile applications. Nilay also worked as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at the City of Markham, ensuring the safety of patrons and teaching swimming skills.

Nilay Shah attended the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2017, where they obtained an Honors Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree in Computer Science.
