Orly Bartour, also known as Orly Barad, has a diverse work experience in the field of instructional design and online learning. Orly has held roles in various companies, starting their career as a freelance content consultant and writer. In 2014, they worked as a Content & Community Manager for TuTiTu, an international animation studio. Orly then joined Six Red Marbles as a Learning Experience Design Graduate Intern, where they contributed to the development of digital and blended learning programs.
In 2015, Orly became a Media & Learning Lab Fellow at Harvard University's Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, where they helped launch the Learning Lab pilot and designed learning resources for the teaching and learning community. Orly continued their work in instructional design at Harvard Extension School in 2016, serving as a Teaching Assistant for a course focused on educational video production.
Orly then joined Boston University as an Instructional Designer, where they developed online training materials for staff and faculty. In 2017, they worked at Harvard Medical School as an Instructional Designer, contributing to the creation of online courses on the opioid epidemic. Orly also worked at Knovva Academy as an Online Learning Designer and later as an Online Learning Team Lead, overseeing the design and production of media-rich online courses for an international audience.
In 2019, Orly joined Thinkful as an Instructional Designer, responsible for creating job-focused online programs in the tech industry. Orly led a team of subject matter experts, media producers, and curriculum writers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Currently, Orly holds the position of VP of Learning Experience and Global Product at Podium Education, starting in October 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Learning Design at the same company from May 2020 to December 2021.
Throughout their career, Orly has demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, project management, content creation, and learning technology integration. Orly has consistently delivered effective and engaging learning experiences, collaborating with stakeholders and continuously improving processes and deliverables.
Orly Bartour (Barad) completed a Master's Degree in Technology, Innovation and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Humanities from Tel Aviv University, attending from 2009 to 2013. Before that, they pursued Creative Writing at the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School from 2007 to 2009. Orly also obtained additional certifications from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, including the distinction of Impact at the LaunchPad@HGSE 2014 Education Hackathon and the Innovator certificate from the same program in October 2014.
