Wendy Schackwitz is an experienced professional in the fields of conservation and bioacoustics. As the owner of Chirp Consulting since January 2018, Wendy utilizes audio recorders and bioacoustics software to monitor the reproductive behaviors of the endangered Tricolored Blackbird. Wendy also serves as the Audubon Climate Watch Coordinator for California, overseeing volunteer efforts in species abundance data collection. Additionally, Wendy works as a Research Associate at Point Blue Conservation Science, analyzing audio data for the Soundscapes2Landscapes project. Previous roles include serving as a board member for Audubon California and president of the Napa-Solano Audubon Society, as well as leading a resequencing team at JGI-LBNL. Wendy holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Washington and a BS in Biology from Oregon State University.
