Kathleen Makela

Kathleen Makela has extensive experience in public relations and corporate communications. Kathleen is currently the Director of Public Relations at Point32Health since January 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Point32Health from June 2021 to January 2022. Before joining Point32Health, Kathleen was the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Tufts Health Plan from August 2016 to January 2022. Kathleen'sprevious roles include Public Relations Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts from November 2013 to July 2016, Public Affairs Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs from September 2010 to October 2013, and Director of Marketing and Media Relations at The Akshaya Patra Foundation USA from March 2008 to August 2010. Additionally, they served as an Account Supervisor at Racepoint Global from October 2007 to February 2008 and a Senior Account Executive at MS&L Group from August 2006 to October 2007. Kathleen started their career as a Media Relations Specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from October 2004 to August 2006, and earlier worked as a Public Relations Specialist at ML Strategies, LLC from August 2003 to October 2004.

Kathleen Makela attended Boston Latin Academy from an unknown start year until 1997. Afterwards, they pursued higher education at the University of Arizona, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Political Science, completing their studies in 2001.
