Nikola Đorđević, PhD has a diverse work experience. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as an Assistant at Petnica Science Center and as a Student Assistant at ETF, Belgrade. In 2011, they were a UREKA Fastnet Summer Research Assistant at Tyndall National Institute. In 2013, they were an Intern at IBM, where they investigated oxide-semiconductor interface for highly scaled III-V MOSFETs and completed a Master Thesis Project on lateral current injection photonic crystal laser. From 2014 to 2021, they were a PhD Candidate at ETH Zürich, where they designed and optimized metasurface-enhanced photodetectors based on colloidal quantum dots, conducted polarization resolved experiment design and automation with real time data-acquisition, and studied time-resolved photoluminescence properties of novel nano-scale luminescent materials. Currently, they are a Staff Engineer Photonics at ams OSRAM and a Senior Silicon Photonics Engineer at Pointcloud Inc.
Nikola Đorđević obtained a Bachelor from the University of Belgrade in 2012, majoring in Physics Electronics from the School of Electrical Engineering. Nikola then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Micro and Nanosystems from ETH Zürich in 2014. In 2020, Nikola Đorđević completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Photonics from ETH Zürich. Before that, they attended Gimnazija Kruševac from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, Nikola Đorđević has obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Cornell University in 2022, Getting Things Done from LinkedIn in 2021, Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning from Coursera in 2020, and a PhD from ETH Zürich.
