Marie Carsten Pedersen

Marie Carsten Pedersen has a diverse work experience in journalism, writing, editing, and illustration. Marie started their career as a freelance illustrator in 1999, working for various publishers, magazines, books, and organizations. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a journalist at Mediefabrikken Content Providing, initially as a full-time intern and later as a freelancer. In 2006, they became a campaign manager at Axel Film for an awareness campaign on human trafficking. From 2007 to 2008, Marie worked at Aller Press/Bazar Magazine as a writer and as the editor-in-chief of Oestrogen.dk. Marie then joined Politiken as a journalist and freelance writer, primarily contributing to iBYEN.dk, Politiken Kultur, and Politiken FILM. Marie's freelance writing career started in 2000, focusing on culture, art, lifestyle, and travel. Marie continues to take on selective assignments while primarily working at Oestrogen.dk.

Marie Carsten Pedersen pursued their education at the University of Copenhagen, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from 1998 to 2003. Marie continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Master of Arts/Cand. Mag. in Modern Culture and Cultural Communication/Literature in 2006.
