Melissa W.

Melissa W. has diverse work experience in the medical field. Melissa currently holds the position of Medical Director at Pomelo Care since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Public Speaker, Web3 Healthcare Advocate, and Medical Consultant from November 2022 to May 2023. In 2022, they served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Florida International University - Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and also worked as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Medical Center Miami Beach. Before that, they were an Attending Physician at ROYAL PALM OBGYN, P.A and HCA Healthcare Physician Services Group from February 2021 to September 2021. Melissa also held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at NYC HEALTH+HOSPITALS | BELLEVUE from November 2016 to January 2021 and Assistant Clinical Professor at NYU Langone Health from October 2016 to January 2021. Melissa gained experience as an Attending Physician and Assistant Clinical Professor at Montefiore Health System, providing full-spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care services. Additionally, they worked as an OB Simulation Trainer at Kibogora District Hospital, facilitating training programs in Rwanda.

Melissa W. attended The Bronx High School of Science from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Melissa then went on to study at The City College of New York from 2003 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Their field of study during this time was Biomedical Education. In addition, Melissa W. pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Medicine from New York Medical College from 2008 to 2010.

Melissa W. has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In January 2016, they became a Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). Melissa completed the Psychodynamic Therapy Training Program Certification from New York Medical College in June 2018. Most recently, in September 2020, they obtained a Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety from the IHI (Institute for Healthcare Improvement).
