Alan G. is an aspiring computer scientist with extensive experience in software engineering and mentoring. Currently serving as a Data Structures Teaching Assistant at Pomona College, Alan focuses on guiding students in the principles of data structures and object-oriented programming using Java. Previous internships include a Full Stack Software Intern at Cisco Meraki and a Software Engineering Intern at InterSystems, where Alan contributed to the development of a companion app for Intelligent Chart Review and enhanced the main application with natural language processing features. Additionally, Alan has experience in research and mentoring roles, including as a General Chemistry Mentor and a Summer Research Intern with APAPA, where Alan worked on NLP models to assess voter registration demographics. As a founding member of both Mason Hack Club and CincyHacks, Alan has also shown a commitment to increasing student engagement in technology and STEM education. Alan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Pomona College, expected in 2023.
