Annie Colbert

Annie Colbert is an accomplished editor and media strategist currently serving as Editor-in-Chief at Popular Science since January 2023. Previously, Annie held the position of Executive Editor at Mashable from July 2012 to November 2022, where Annie led a team of over 35 journalists and editors, significantly increasing organic traffic by 45% year-over-year and enhancing the reader experience through collaboration with the Product team. Annie's editorial expertise was also evident as the Interim Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor at Mashable, where original content series and traffic strategies were implemented. Earlier in the career, Annie contributed to social media as a writer for Ghost Twitter-er, with work featured in Wired and The New York Times, and held the role of Managing Editor at Nononina, overseeing a variety of content and audio stories. Annie Colbert earned a BA in Sociology from Loyola University Chicago.
