Mark A. Smith

Mark A. Smith possesses extensive law enforcement and leadership experience, currently serving as Chief of Police at the Port of Houston Authority since November 2008, with previous roles including Acting Director of Port Security and Emergency Operations. Prior to this position, Mark A. Smith held the role of Director of Safe & Secure Schools at Clear Creek Independent School District and Chief of Police at both Galveston Independent School District and the City of Crandall. Mark A. Smith's career in law enforcement began with the Dallas Police Department, where service spanned over 23 years in various capacities before retiring in 2004. Educational qualifications include an Executive Leadership Program Certificate in Homeland Security from the Naval Postgraduate School and multiple degrees, including an MBA in General Business from Amberton University and a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.
