Kevin J. Carpenter, PMP

Kevin J. Carpenter, PMP has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several decades. Kevin J. currently holds the role of Sr. Project Manager at the Port of Tacoma, where they began in November 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Program Management at Decisiv, Inc. from October 2018 to May 2021.

From 2012 to 2018, Kevin worked at PACCAR as a Sr. Project Manager. During their tenure, they led the effort to re-host a business critical legacy application used by truck assembly plants. Kevin J. managed the in-house work following an Agile approach using Scrum ceremonies, overseeing infrastructure, database, peripherals, and code renovation. Additionally, they managed the vendor responsible for converting the legacy code base.

Before joining PACCAR, Kevin was a Partner and Director of Operations at Tuca Harbor, an S-Corp based in St. Louis. From March 2010 to January 2012, they co-founded the company, established corporate by-laws, and handled state and federal reporting.

Kevin also co-founded Three-Legged Productions, a social profit music and theatre company, in 2008. During their time there, they established the corporate charter and by-laws, seated the board of directors, and managed the corporate entity. Kevin J. also implemented the corporate Community Partnership program, contributing financial and other proceeds to other organizations in St. Louis.

Kevin J.'sextensive experience in the IT industry began at Monsanto in 1996, where they held various roles. As a Team Lead and Manager, they implemented SAP CFM simultaneously in Latin America North and Canada and led the Change Management process. Kevin J. also implemented the Law Matters application. As the Manager of the Data Management Team, they established and managed an organization structure comprised of four managers and up to 30 employees and contractors. Kevin J. also implemented an Applications Operations including a production support model for the US commercial application suite.

Kevin's career began at PACCAR in 1985, where they worked as an IT Developer/Analyst until 1994.

Kevin J. Carpenter, PMP, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Washington State University. Kevin J. attended the university from 1980 to 1984. In terms of certifications, they earned the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute in February 2015. Kevin J. also obtained the Executive Leadership certification from LinkedIn in September 2018. Additionally, they have a certification as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
