Rich Sharples

Rich Sharples currently serves as Vice President & Head of Product at Portainer.io, focusing on driving product initiatives for growth and success since March 2024. Prior to this role, Sharples was Vice President of SaaS Product Management at CloudBees, where alignment around a single platform strategy was prioritized to enhance future success. With extensive experience at Red Hat as Head of Product and General Manager, Sharples built a multi-hundred-million-dollar open source subscription business, overseeing product strategy and management. Additional roles include membership on the Board of Directors for the Node.js Foundation, various product management positions at Sun Microsystems, and technical consultancy roles at Forte Software and earlier in their career, rich software development experience at Science Systems (Space) Ltd. Rich Sharples holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of the West of England and completed Executive Development in Business Administration and Management at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
