Christine A. Richardson

Christine A. Richardson is an accomplished costume director and designer with extensive experience in theater and opera. Currently serving as the Costume Director at Portland Opera since November 2015, Christine has previously held roles as a freelance costume designer for various organizations, including Guthrie Theater and Mu Performing Arts, since June 1990. Between 2005 and 2015, Christine managed the costume workroom at Guthrie Theater, overseeing a team of ten artists and producing costumes for multiple overlapping productions. Additional experience includes positions as a wardrobe supervisor and costume director at Hey City Theater and contributions to various film and television productions. Christine holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Portland and has participated in teaching and lecture events, enhancing the educational landscape in costume design.
