Chris Smith

Instructional Coach/student Success Team Lead at Portland Public Schools

Chris Smith has a diverse work experience in various fields. Chris started their career in 1997 as an English Teacher at Gresham High School, where they also served as the English/ELL Department Chair and later became the IB Diploma Coordinator. In 2002, Chris worked as a Flyfishing Guide/Instructor at Northwest Fly Fishing Outfitters, providing guidance and teaching flyfishing classes. In 2014, they joined Portland Public Schools as an IB English Teacher and later became the TAG/IB TOSA and Instructional Coach/Student Success Team Lead. Additionally, Chris worked as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University Portland in 2016.

Chris Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Puget Sound from 1991 to 1995. From 1996 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Portland State University.
