John Raftery

John Raftery has extensive experience in the design and development of new products, particularly within the ceramic industry. John is currently serving as the Head of Technical Design for New Product Development at Portmeirion Group Limited, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this role, John worked at the same company as the Design & New Product Development Manager from May 2009 to February 2021. Before joining Portmeirion Group Limited, they were employed at Spode as a Design Technician from 1991 to 2009.

John Raftery obtained their A Level degree in Art/Art Studies, General from Newcastle Under Lyme Collage in 1991. John then pursued their education in the field of Accounting and Finance, completing an AAT Certificate in Accounting Level 2 from Stoke-on-Trent College in 2010. In 2011, they furthered their studies in accounting by earning an AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3 from the same college. John then attended Newcastle Under Lyme College from 2011 to 2013 and obtained an AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 4. Moving towards a broader scope, John pursued a Leadership & Management Level 4 NVQ degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Highfield from 2015 to 2017. Lastly, they completed a Leadership & Management Level 5 NVQ degree in Organisational Leadership from Highfield between 2019 and 2021.
