Rui Alves

Rui Alves is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in leadership and software engineering. Currently serving as Head of IT at Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts since November 2014, Rui has a strong background in research, having worked as a Research Assistant at Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute, focusing on integrating Service Design methods into software development. Rui also has experience in academia as an Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade da Madeira, where instruction on Requirements Engineering was provided. Previous roles include Project Manager at GMVIS Skysoft, Mission Systems Engineer at Airbus Military, and various positions in IT and software engineering. Rui holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering and is a Ph.D. candidate in Service Design and Software Engineering at Universidade da Madeira, complemented by education from institutions such as Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Imperial College Business School.
