Bruce Koch

Bruce Koch has a broad range of work experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Bruce is currently the Executive Director of Medical Affairs at Portola Pharmaceuticals, a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to that, Bruce worked at Gilead Sciences for over ten years, holding various roles including Senior Director of Medical Affairs and Medical Director in different specialties. Before Gilead Sciences, they were a Medical Director at ARCA biopharma, Inc. and held positions at Johnson & Johnson, Kaiser Permanente, and UCSF Medical Center. Bruce's expertise spans areas such as cardiology, respiratory medicine, and real-world data cohorts and registries.

Bruce Koch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Davidson College between 1987 and 1991. Bruce then went on to pursue further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from 1992 to 1995. Bruce continued their studies at the same institution and completed a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from 1995 to 1997, specializing in Pharmacy.
