Philipp Verpoort is a climate-mitigation and energy-transition researcher at the PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since May 2021, focusing on sustainable energy transitions and future markets for hydrogen, synthetic fuels, and energy-intensive industrial goods. Verpoort is actively involved in the development of the REMIND integrated assessment model and the implementation of trade mechanisms for sustainable energy carriers and goods within the model. Prior to this role, Verpoort worked as a software developer for Seredy and the Sortition Foundation, where software named GroupSelect was created and training was provided to clients. Philipp Verpoort holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge (2017-2020), a Master’s Degree in Physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (2014-2016), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the same institution (2011-2014).
