Samantha Velez-Mitchell

Samantha Velez-Mitchell has extensive experience in the educational field, currently serving as Principal at Poughkeepsie City School District since September 2016, having previously held the role of Assistant Principal. Prior to this, Samantha worked as a Teacher and Reading Specialist in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. Academically, Samantha earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Long Island University in 2023, along with a Certificate of Advanced Study in the same field from Long Island University in 2012. Samantha also holds a Master of Science in Reading Teacher Education from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Pace University.
