Karen Frew

Karen Frew serves as a Security and Reliability Council Member at Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko since May 2024 and is an Executive Committee Member of the Electricity Engineers' Association of New Zealand since July 2023. With a longstanding tenure at Powerco starting in December 2002, Karen has held various leadership roles, including General Manager Electricity and General Manager Service Delivery and System Operations. Karen's extensive experience encompasses positions such as Network Operations Manager and Senior Project Manager, showcasing a strong background in asset management, technical regulation, and program management. Educationally, Karen Frew holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Canterbury, earned between 1992 and 1996.
