Owen Smyth has a diverse work experience, beginning with their role as a Grounds Keeper at Kimmers Port Apartments from 2009 to 2011. Owen then worked as a Mural Artist for a short period in 2011. Additionally, they founded SmyfDesign, a graphic design company, and worked with various clients in digital and print graphic design from 2008 to 2013. Owen also served as a Graphic and UI Design Consultant for Spawnd LLC, where they played a leading role in designing the company logo and providing expertise in user experience from 2011 to 2012.
In 2013, Owen joined Terex Corporation as a Design Engineer, contributing to the development of industrial screening machines. Owen also worked on the final design stages of the Warrior 2100 heavy-duty screen. Afterward, they worked as a Director at Osk&r Juliet, a design studio specializing in creative product and service design, from 2014 onwards.
Since 2014, Owen has been associated with Powerscreen, initially as a Product Management Engineer responsible for introducing new products to the Powerscreen brand and liaising with the Marketing and Services Manager. Owen later took on the role of Senior Product Management Engineer, focusing on new product development, telematics development, building a training academy, and representing the brand at events. Currently, Owen serves as the Lead Dealer Manager where they lead the Powerscreen sales team across the USA, Canada, and Mexico, working with the dealer network to grow market share, margins, and revenue. Owen also manages and trains sales graduates through the Terex Early Talent Program.
Owen Smyth attended Queen's University Belfast from 2010 to 2013, where they studied Product Design & Development in the field of Industrial and Product Design. Prior to that, they attended St. Patrick's Grammar School in Downpatrick from 2003 to 2010. No degree or field of study was specified for their time at St. Patrick's Grammar School.
