Douglas Ashton is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in various roles and organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Powerverse since April 2022, Douglas contributes to AI initiatives focused on home energy management systems. Prior to this, Douglas was the Chief Data Scientist at Pure Planet, overseeing the entire data function and leading a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts. At Mango Solutions, Douglas held multiple roles, including Principal Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist, where a strong emphasis was placed on machine learning projects in retail and finance. The early career includes postdoctoral positions at the University of Bath and Universiteit Utrecht, focusing on material design and interbank lending networks. Douglas holds a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Physics from the University of Nottingham.
