Thematic Lead Disaster Risk Reduction at Practical Action

Sarah Brown is an accomplished expert in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, currently serving as Thematic Lead for Disaster Risk Reduction at Practical Action since August 2012. Brown has extensive experience leading significant research and innovative projects, including serving as co-investigator for the Landslip Landslide Early Warning Research Project and technical lead for multiple programs under DFID and USAID. Previously, positions included Conflict Team Leader at CARE International and Project Coordinator for the Conflict Sensitivity Consortium. Brown’s work spans various countries and includes substantial contributions to disaster resilience, procurement of multi-million-pound funding for projects, and managing programs focused on building local capacities for flood risk management across South Asia and Latin America.
