Brent Bernard, CISSP, CRISC, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Brent started their career as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1996 to 2004. Following their military service, Brent worked at General Dynamics as a Program Manager and Exchange Administrator from 2004 to 2005.
Afterward, they joined the US Army TACOM as an IT Project Manager from 2005 to 2006. Brent then transitioned to Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where they worked as a Senior IT Project Manager from 2006 to 2008. At the US Army TACOM, Brent served as a DIACAP Engineer from 2008 to 2009, managing multiple DIACAP validation projects for the US Army.
In 2009, Brent became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Praetorian Secure, LLC. At Praetorian Secure, they led the company in providing DIACAP, FISMA, NIST, and PCI-DSS compliance support services, security engineering, and project management. The company specializes in offering innovative Information Assurance (IA) strategies and security solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD), US Federal Agencies, Corporations, and Non-Profit organizations.
More recently, Brent has become the Owner and Co-Founder of Manage Defense since 2015. At Manage Defense, they oversee the company's Threat Management (MDTM) solutions, which offer integrated security defense against breaches, data loss, and malware attacks. Brent aims to simplify security operations and management by integrating various security tools such as IPS/IDS, network firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and email content filtering.

Brent Bernard, CISSP, CRISC, has a diverse education history that spans several years. In 1996, they attended the US Marine Corps - Small Computer Specialist School, where they focused on Small Computers and Networking. Prior to that, from 1993 to 1996, Brent studied Information Systems & Communications at Mott College. Brent completed their high school education at Kearsley High School from 1990 to 1993.
Aside from their educational background, Brent has also obtained additional certifications to enhance their expertise. In 2009, they successfully obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2. Additionally, in 2012, they earned the Payment Card Industry - Qualified Security Assessor (PCI-QSA) certification from the PCI Security Standards Council.
