Melissa Hebert-Johnson

Dean, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at Prairie State College

Melissa Hebert-Johnson is the current Dean of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at Prairie State College. Melissa has also been a Lecturer of Art Theirtory at Columbus State University, and has taught art history courses including Women in the Visual Arts, Art of Africa and the Diaspora, and Seminar in Asian Art. Hebert-Johnson has also been Museum Educator at the Figge Art Museum and Chair of Communication and Fine Arts at Black Hawk College.

Melissa Hebert-Johnson has a Master of Arts (MA) in Art Theirtory, Criticism and Conservation from Northern Illinois University, a Graduate Certification in Women's Studies from Northern Illinois University, and is a Fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute in India's Past and the Making of the Present, and East-West Center Infusing South Asian Studies into the Undergraduate Curriculum. Melissa also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art Theirtory, Criticism and Conservation from Northern Illinois University. Melissa is certified by QM Quality Matters in Applying the QM Rubric and APPQMR (Applying the QM Rubric) training, and Phi Theta Kappa in Certified Leadership Development Instructor.
