James McDonald

James McDonald is a Design Engineer at Pratt Miller since June 2022, with prior experience as the Chief Engineer/Suspension Lead for Michigan State University Baja SAE from August 2018 to June 2022. In this role, James managed the design, packaging, and integration of various automotive systems for offroad vehicles, utilizing software such as NX, Solidworks, and Ansys. James also has experience as a Design Intern at Pratt Miller, where responsibilities included designing components for hydrogen fuel cell vehicle prototypes and conducting structural analyses. Earlier internships at Highlight Industries Inc. and Nabs Painting and Carpentry provided experience in component installation and preparatory work, respectively. James holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and participated in a study abroad program in Spanish at Universidad San Francisco de Quito.
