Conrad Unciano

Emerging Technology Lead at Praxis Engineering

Conrad Unciano has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Conrad began their career as a Computer Programmer in the United States Air Force - 7th Comm Group from 1988 to 1990. Conrad then worked as a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Staff Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 1991 to 1998. At Unisys, they served as a Systems Analyst from 1998 to 1999.

Conrad then joined Lockheed Martin again in 1999 and held various roles including Staff Systems Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager, and Systems Engineering Manager, providing quality management and system engineering services for multiple programs. Conrad was also responsible for project management, requirements analysis, and ISO 9001 compliance.

In 2013, Conrad joined Amazon Web Services as a Program Manager and Cloud Test Lead, where they performed verification and validation for large government and commercial web services cloud using Amazon Cloud Services. Conrad created and managed test environments and administered user roles and access.

From 2015 to 2018, Conrad worked at CSRA Inc as a Systems Engineering Advisor and AWS DevOps Engineer, and later as a Systems Engineering Manager and AWS Cloud Lead. Conrad implemented highly available and fault-tolerant applications and infrastructure on Amazon Cloud Services, using Agile methodologies and Well Architected Principles.

Conrad then joined Leidos in 2018 as the Chief Cloud Architect, overseeing cloud architecture design and implementation.

Currently, Conrad is working at Praxis Engineering as the Emerging Technology Lead, where they are involved in leading emerging technology initiatives.

Conrad Unciano holds a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, which they obtained from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering at George Mason University, from 1986 to 1991. In addition to their formal education, Conrad has obtained several certifications in the field of technology. In 2016, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Conrad further expanded their expertise by acquiring the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification in December 2015. Conrad also holds the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification, which they obtained in July 2016. In 2018, they achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certifications. Furthermore, Conrad is a certified SAFe Agilist (SA) from Scaled Agile, Inc., although the specific date of obtaining this certification is unknown.
