Sayanti Banerjee, PhD

Sayanti Banerjee, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the data science field since 2004. Sayanti began their career as a Graduate Student Researcher and Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University, where they built neuron models from electrophysiological data and developed a novel geometrical mechanism to explain complex oscillations in a certain class of neurons. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Santa Clara University, teaching and mentoring over 200 students. During this time, they also worked as a Data Science Consultant for SmartInfer LLC and Neurotrack, where they analyzed webcam video data to track pupil movement and used Python and OpenCV for face detection. In 2017, they completed the highly competitive Data Science Fellowship at The Data Incubator, where they created MedScorer, an interactive web application for evaluating the effectiveness of antidepressants in the United States. Sayanti then worked as a Data Scientist at Profusa from 2018 to 2022, developing a pipeline for a tissue perfusion monitoring system and machine learning to predict endovascular revascularization success. Currently, they are a Senior Data Scientist at Prealize Health.

Sayanti Banerjee, PhD has a comprehensive education history. Sayanti obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from The Ohio State University with a dissertation in mathematical neuroscience, earning a 3.82 GPA. Sayanti then went on to obtain their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematics from the University of South Florida, earning a 3.97 GPA. Before that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics from the University of Mumbai, where they were a gold medalist. In addition, they hold several certifications from Coursera Course Certificates and The Data Incubator.
